New Orleans is our classic eastbound Gulf Coast haul. We follow I-10 the same direction the storms come from, about 350 miles through the Golden Triangle and across the Louisiana line into the Crescent City. Five to six hours of driving, and at the end of it you are in one of the most distinctive housing markets we serve. We run this for job transfers, family moves home, and people drawn to the food, music, and history.
Moving out of state? our Dayton crew keeps your shipment with one Space City crew from the Houston curb to the new front door, on a flat price set in writing.
East on I-10 along the coast
From Dayton we hop on I-10 and run east through Beaumont, over the Sabine into Louisiana, and across the long marsh bridges into New Orleans. Crossing the state line makes it an interstate move, and we handle it under our own USDOT and MC authority. One Space City Movers truck and crew load you in the Houston area and unload you in New Orleans, no transfer in between.
Who moves this direction
- Energy, port, and shipping professionals shifting between Gulf hubs
- Families relocating back to Louisiana roots after time in Texas
- Hospitality and music-scene workers heading into the city
- Buyers drawn to historic neighborhoods and the unique culture
What is different about New Orleans
The climate is familiar, hot, humid, and squarely in the same Atlantic hurricane season we plan around in Houston, so we keep an eye on the Gulf on both ends. The homes are the real change. New Orleans brings raised houses on piers with exterior stairs, narrow shotgun layouts, tight Uptown and Quarter streets, and limited truck parking. Our crew chiefs plan the carry, the stairs, and where the truck sits before the wheels stop.
How we handle the haul
We load at dawn to stay ahead of the heat and any weather, pad and shrink-wrap every piece, inventory it, and keep the same crew on the job coast to coast. We carry our own cargo insurance, with up to $1,000,000 of coverage available per shipment. We are a licensed Texas mover running our own fleet across the line, not a broker.
What the flat price covers
- One binding number set after we review the inventory
- Full padding, wrapping, and furniture disassembly
- Loading, the 350-mile interstate haul, and unloading by one crew
- Optional storage in transit if your New Orleans dates slide

How this run goes · ~350 mi
Starting in Greater Houston, one crew and one truck carry the whole haul, tracked door to door on a single binding flat rate. The delivery date we promise is the date it lands — your load stays with that one crew start to finish, never handed off, and you pay the figure we wrote down, no other.
