01 Overview

Full-Service Packing, Done by Our Crew

Packing is where most moves go sideways, so Space City Movers will do it for you — every cabinet, closet and curio — or just the parts you’d rather not touch. The same Space City team that packs your home is the team that loads and moves it, which means nothing gets lost in a handoff and everything is wrapped the way it needs to ride. We’ve packed homes across Greater Houston since 2012, from Mont Belvieu new builds to acreage houses around Dayton.

From Baytown to Kingwood, Dayton, TX movers turns the whole job into one flat figure before move day and stands behind it, with nothing extra waiting at the end.

Whole-Home or Just the Hard Parts

Some customers want the full treatment: we arrive with all the materials and pack the entire house room by room, labeling every carton so unpacking is painless. Others just want the dangerous stuff handled — the kitchen, the china hutch, the framed art, the garage full of tools — and pack their own clothes and books. Either way you only pay for what we pack, and it all rolls into one flat quote with your move.

Packing for the Gulf Coast, Not a Catalog

Houston humidity doesn’t care how nice your boxes are. Moisture is the enemy of electronics, photographs, documents and wood, so we wrap those with materials made to keep damp air out, and we never leave packed cartons baking in a hot truck or garage overnight. Mirrors, glass tabletops, flat-screen TVs and framed art get custom crating. It’s the difference between opening a box in your new Kingwood home and finding everything dry and intact versus finding a warped, musty mess.

One Flat Price, Materials Included

We fold packing into a single flat quote with the move rather than nickel-and-diming you per box at the end. Materials — cartons, dish-pack cells, wardrobe boxes, paper, tape — are supplied and itemized so you see exactly what the job took. A $105 deposit holds the date and credits to the balance. Prefer the hourly route for a light pack? Two movers and a truck are $185 an hour and three are $255. Everything we pack and move is covered at the 60-cents-per-pound standard, with full-value protection optional and up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment.

  • Full-home or partial packing — kitchen, garage and fragiles only if you like
  • All materials supplied and itemized, no store runs
  • Humidity-aware wrapping for electronics, art and paperwork
  • Custom crates for mirrors, glass and TVs

  • Whole-home packing by our own crew, plus partial packs for just the kitchen, garage or fragile rooms

  • Humidity-aware wrapping so Gulf Coast moisture doesn't get into electronics, art or paperwork in transit

  • Packing rolled into one flat quote with your move, $105 deposit applied to the balance

How we land on the price

It begins with a short walkthrough or video survey, and off your actual inventory we set one flat Greater Houston rate — no hourly meter hiding anywhere inside it. Whatever that quote reads is the whole price, with nothing tacked on once the truck is loaded or a storm slides in off the Gulf and shifts the date.

02 How we protect your move

We treat your things the way we'd want ours treated

Every truck pulls out loaded with pads, shrink film, and floor runners — ready to blanket furniture, keep tile and hardwood clean through a muddy summer downpour, and cushion the breakables, whether it's a brick ranch on slab out in Liberty County, an Atascocita home on Lake Houston, or a high-rise condo downtown with a freight elevator to reserve.

Quilted pads

Dressers, dining tables, and headboards get blanketed right where they sit, padding on long before anything rolls toward the door.

Stretch film

Drawers stay shut and cushions stay clean — wrapped tight so road grime and a damp, humid walk to the truck never reach the fabric.

Floor & doorway guards

Runners rolled out, rails wrapped, jambs padded — first thing we do at both homes, so floors and corners look untouched after the last trip out.

Built-to-fit crating

Right in the room, before anything fragile leaves it, we measure a mirror, glass tabletop, framed canvas, or flat screen corner to corner and build the crate around it for a snug, exact fit.

Break-down & rebuild

Bed frames, dining tables, and sectionals come apart to ride safe, and once they're through the new door our crew puts every one back together.

Straps, dollies & gear

A third-floor walk-up downtown, a long load-out across a flooded yard, or the single heaviest piece in the house — each calls up the right tie-downs and rigging off our truck, and none of it gets left behind.

03 Why us

The name on the door of the truck is the same name at the bottom of your contract

Book Space City Movers and the truck rolling up your driveway is ours, the contract is ours, and the uniformed crew walking your sofa out through the Gulf heat is on our Greater Houston payroll — your move never gets sold off. A broker works the other way around: they auction your job to whoever bids lowest that week, collect their cut, and step out of it for good.

Space City Movers
  • Our trucks, our fleet, and the full-time background-checked movers riding in them are on our own payroll — we never fill out a crew with day labor pulled off a listing site
  • The figure we write down is the figure you pay — set, signed, and accurate to the dollar before the first box gets lifted
  • The same crew end to end, from the first piece out the old door to the last one set down at the new place
  • Texas (TxDMV) household-goods registration, USDOT/MC authority for interstate runs, and every job carried on full insurance with up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage
  • One point of contact at our Dayton office, with you from that first call straight through to the last box carried inside
What a broker does
  • Farms your move out to whatever crew undercuts the rest in the week you happened to call
  • Lets the total drift up once the truck shows, stacked with line items nobody mentioned the day you signed
  • Sends strangers you have never spoken to through your front door, putting your whole household in the hands of a crew you can't vouch for
  • Leaves it a guess whose insurer covers it the day a TV corner catches a doorframe
  • Parks a call center between you and whoever finally shows up to load, so one simple question turns into a runaround

Questions we hear about this service

With Houston's humidity, will my electronics and photos survive being boxed up?
That's exactly why we pack the way we do. Gulf Coast moisture is real, so we wrap electronics, framed photos and important paperwork in materials that keep humidity out, and we don't leave packed boxes sitting in a hot garage or truck overnight. Everything loads and moves on schedule so nothing sweats in storage.
Can you just pack the kitchen and the breakables and let us do the rest?
Definitely. A partial pack is one of our most popular options — we'll handle the kitchen, the china, the art and the garage tools while you box up clothes and books on your own time. You only pay for what we pack, and it all folds into one flat quote with the move.
Do you supply the boxes or do I buy my own?
We bring everything — cartons, dish-pack cells, wardrobe boxes, paper and tape — and itemize the materials so you can see what went into the job. No last-minute runs to the store, and no guessing how many boxes a 3-bedroom slab home actually needs.
