01 Overview

Kingwood calls itself “the Livable Forest,” and it earns the name — winding streets under a thick pine and oak canopy, organized into villages that each feel like their own small town in the far northeast corner of the metro. It’s one of the best-loved master-planned communities in Greater Houston, and moving here rewards a crew that knows the trees, the villages, and the HOA rhythms. Space City Movers does, and we run up US-59 from Dayton to work it.

Setting up a move in this stretch of Greater Houston? Greater Houston movers is on these subdivisions, Ship Channel streets, and master-planned neighborhoods most weeks.

The forest is the whole point — and the challenge

That gorgeous canopy means low limbs, narrow wooded drives, and homes set back among the trees. You can’t just back a big truck up blind. We scope the approach first, pick the staging spot that clears the branches, and protect the longer carry when a drive won’t take the rig. Beautiful streets, planned carefully — that’s how we keep them.

Villages, HOAs, and flood-aware homes

Each Kingwood village runs its own HOA, and some have gate codes, truck-parking rules, or quiet hours worth respecting. We work within them. And because parts of Kingwood flooded hard in recent years, a number of homes have been raised or rebuilt flood-aware — elevated entries and extra stairs are routine for our crew:

  • HOA and gate rules confirmed and worked around before move day
  • Truck staged where the village allows, carry path protected
  • Three-story homes disassembled and labeled for clean reassembly
  • Specialty pieces — pianos, safes, big sectionals — handled by Reggie’s team
  • Everything wrapped against the dense humidity under the canopy
  • Weather watched closely through hurricane season, dawn loads when storms threaten

Big homes, one flat number

Kingwood homes run large, often three stories, often full of furniture worth moving carefully — and the worst way to price that is by the hour, where every stair and every break runs the meter. We quote one flat rate sized to the house, hold it with a $105 deposit credited to the final bill, and the number we agree on is the number you pay. We’re a licensed Texas TxDMV and USDOT/MC mover running our own fleet and our own uniformed crews, and the same crew loads and unloads you start to finish.

We move Kingwood

Our crews run Kingwood week in and week out, so the gated entrances, the long driveways, the high-rise docks, and any elevator reservation are second nature well before the truck pulls up. What we quote is a single flat rate, broken out line by line — no surprise charges tucked in the fine print waiting to trip you up later.

02 Why us

The name on the door of the truck is the same name at the bottom of your contract

Book Space City Movers and the truck rolling up your driveway is ours, the contract is ours, and the uniformed crew walking your sofa out through the Gulf heat is on our Greater Houston payroll — your move never gets sold off. A broker works the other way around: they auction your job to whoever bids lowest that week, collect their cut, and step out of it for good.

Space City Movers
  • Our trucks, our fleet, and the full-time background-checked movers riding in them are on our own payroll — we never fill out a crew with day labor pulled off a listing site
  • The figure we write down is the figure you pay — set, signed, and accurate to the dollar before the first box gets lifted
  • The same crew end to end, from the first piece out the old door to the last one set down at the new place
  • Texas (TxDMV) household-goods registration, USDOT/MC authority for interstate runs, and every job carried on full insurance with up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage
  • One point of contact at our Dayton office, with you from that first call straight through to the last box carried inside
What a broker does
  • Farms your move out to whatever crew undercuts the rest in the week you happened to call
  • Lets the total drift up once the truck shows, stacked with line items nobody mentioned the day you signed
  • Sends strangers you have never spoken to through your front door, putting your whole household in the hands of a crew you can't vouch for
  • Leaves it a guess whose insurer covers it the day a TV corner catches a doorframe
  • Parks a call center between you and whoever finally shows up to load, so one simple question turns into a runaround

What Kingwood movers ask us

Kingwood's villages have HOA rules and some gates — do you handle that?
Yes. The Kingwood villages each have their own HOA, and some require a heads-up or have gate and parking rules for trucks. Tell us which village you're in and we'll work within the rules — staging the truck where it's allowed and timing the move so we're not crossing anyone's quiet hours. We move here often enough to know the drill.
The tree cover is dense and some homes flood — how does that affect my move?
Kingwood earned 'the Livable Forest' honestly — the canopy is thick and the streets wind. Low limbs and tight wooded drives mean we scope the approach before backing a truck in. And since parts of Kingwood flooded badly, some homes are flood-aware or raised; our crew handles elevated entries and watches the weather closely during hurricane season.
Can you move large, multi-story homes with a lot of furniture?
That's a big part of Kingwood work. The homes here run large and often three stories with a lot of furniture and specialty pieces. We bring a crew sized to the house, disassemble and label everything for a clean rebuild, and Reggie's specialty team handles pianos, safes, and oversized items so it all comes back together right.
